Llanrwst Utd 3-0 Penrhyn
Llanrwst Utd welcomed high flying Penrhyn to Gwydir Park, The Rwsters coming off a disappointing 1-2 defeat to LLandyrnog two days before.
Penrhyn arrived without a recognised keeper in the squad and the much travelled goalscorer, Neil Thomas.
Llanrwst Utd made a couple of changed to the starting eleven, Luke Roberts coming in for Aron Hughes, Matt Mullender starting on the left hand side of midfield. Paul Roberts came out of retirement and started his first game in over a year, as Number 1 Chris Wright was ill.
The Rwsters started well, and on 14 minute, good play between Alun Roberts and Gwyn Jones in the centre of the park with the latter putting through Callum Parry, who took a great first touch before smashing the ball into the top corner passed Penrhyn’s Captain, Iwan Thomas from a narrow angle.
Penrhyn offered little in attack, and resorted to long ball tactics, the old danger Llanrwst had to worry about was dealing with the knockdowns from Cook’s headers, but Captain Leighton Griffiths and Steffan Whiteley did at ease.
The second half couldn’t have started much better, Parry finishing well again, making it 2-0 on 54 minutes.
The Rwsters did lose a bit of control of the game for the next 15 minutes, Cook making Roberts pull off a fantastic save and Roberts got down well again from a Tom Hughes header.
Luke Roberts and Callum Parry were linking up well and Roberts pace was always a danger on the counter attack.
The game was put to bed on 89 minutes, Mullender powering passed the defender and Roberts slotted the ball passed Thomas to make it 3-0.
A great display by the Rwsters and a much needed 3 points.
