Nantlle Vale 4-1 Llanrwst Utd
The Rwsters were in action again, their fourth game in a week.
On a lovely day, not much went right for the Rwsters as they went down 4- 1 at Nantlle Vale.
From Kick Off, Luke Roberts closed the defence down and he blocked the clearance, the ball fell kindly to Roberts who was one on one with Neil Perkins but Perkins stood up well and pushed the shot wide of the post for a corner kick.
A poor corner was cleared up the field and the Rwsters defence were caught napping, Prolific goalscorer Aron Hughes found himself one on one with Roberts, but Hughes finished well. 1-0
The Rwsters never settled and it went from bad to worse, Rob Daniels making it 2-0 after Mullender was caught on the wrong side and Luke Roberts was forced off through injury.
Llanrwst Utd went to a 442 formation, with Hedd Williams coming on for Mullender and Paul Cassidy went upfront, Matt Beach coming to play on the right.
This did little to stop a rampant Vale, Daniel Williams adding a third just before the break.
The management team were furious with the first half performance, and demanded more from the team.
The second half began and it was 4-0 immediately, Daniels adding his second and Vale’s fourth. The ball was passed out to the left, and Daniels tuck inside and his cross/shot looped over the stranded Roberts in goal.
The Rwsters did wake up, and started to dictate play. Chance after Chance went begging as Callum Parry and Leighton Griffiths both came close but Perkins was in fine form.
Parry hit the post and Leon Doran hit the cross bar before Parry got a consolation goal from the spot.
Barry Owen Commented: Rhodri and I were fuming with the first half performance, we lacked leaders and a lot of our lads weren’t working hard enough. However the football we played in the second half was impressive and we created chance after chance and on another day we would of had at least a draw but credit must go to Vale’s keeper, who made 4 or 5 fantastic saves.
