Llanrwst Utd lost out on a valuable 3 point after taking a two goal lead.
The Rwsters were again missing Elliot LLywellyn, Aron Hughes, Steffan Whiteley, Paul Cassidy, Alex Lloyd, long term absentees Hedd Williams and Chris Nicolson along with the suspended Gene Faulkes.
The afternoon started well for the Rwsters, Callum Parry and Leon Doran both netting on 2 minutes and on 12 minutes respectively. Matt Beach thought he’d scored his first goal for the club to make it 3-0 but assistant referee, Alan Cureton ruled him offside, a very tight call to say the least.
Nantlle Vale were always looking dangerous on the counter attack, and on 27 minutes they scored through Aled LLyr Jones, after some neat play between Joe Jones and the prolific Aaron Hughes.
A change in shape by the away team, saw the pendulum swing in favour of Vale, with former Llanrwst Utd player Matthew Davies entering the field of play.
A few words during the interval by the away manager meant that Vale started the second period on fire. The prolific Aaron Hughes equalised on the hour and then again on 76 minutes to put Vale ahead for the first time, after good play down the left by Rhys Alun and James Thomas.
On came Josh Francis and youngster Jac Parry, for Alun Roberts and George Mitchell on 78 minutes but unfortunately the Rwsters were unable to find an equaliser. Leighton Griffiths came the closest but his volley went inches passed the post.
Vale’s Captain, Irfon Hughes got sent from the field for his second yellow card in the closing stages before Cai Holdsworth made sure of the victory in stoppage time.
Manager Barry Owen: After a promising first thirty minutes we let ourselves down today. The players know how disappointed I was and I’ll be looking for a reaction, firstly in training on Wednesday night and especially at home to Llanberis on Saturday.
