Match Report Friday 22nd - Corwen Away

An experimental team travelled to Corwen, with no fewer than 5 trialists starting. During the first 45minutes, Corwen looked the better side, a team that had been playing together for a while, as to Llanrwst side that had been thrown together, playing in a new formation. Eilir Edwards was a constant threat down the right hand side for Corwen and he deservedly scored the opening goal. The pace down the wings and the constant movement from Ryan Jones for Corwen caused further trouble and the second goal came just before half time. Llanrwst continued to play the new formation but with Leighton Griffiths moving further up the field, it wasn't long before chances came. The impressive Aron Hughes won a penalty, which was missed by a trialist and Zach Williams missed from six yards out. Corwen scored a further goal in the second half from a free kick to end a frustrating night for the Rwsters. Manager Barry Owen went on to say: We were disappointing for much of the games and it's never nice to lose, but we need to remember these games are for fitness, to see new lads playing and to try new things. Based on tonight, we have a lot of work to do
