High Flying Glantraeth came to Gwydir Park Glantraeth arrived at Gwydir Park with back to back wins, beating Llanberis 3-0 in the Cup Final at Bangor City's Ground, and also beating Prestatyn Sports 2-0 on Thursday evening. With many players playing out of position and again with so many players unavailable, the Rwsters were expecting a tough game.
However the Rwsters started brightly, Kane Williams finding Luke Roberts, with the goal at his mercy but Glantraeth keeper Ben Heald somehow managing to keep the shot out. Heald made another couple of outstanding saves, keeping efforts from Callum Parry and Bryn Jenkins out. On the stroke of half time, a long throw from Lock was not dealt with and Tom Clarke tapped in from 3yards out to give Glantraeth the lead at half time.
Barry Owen and Jamie Williams asked for more of the same and urged the team to take the next chance that came the Rwsters way but this wasn't to be, Glantraeth held on with Man of the Match Heald saving them on more the one occasion, and it was another frustrating game that the Rwsters failed to pick any points from. Llanrwst Utd are home again on Tuesday evening, against Llanberis who are always a hard side to beat. 6.30 KO.
